Roosevelt Island Residents Association (RIRA) Southown Networking Breakfast Meet and Greet Yesterday Morning in Riverwalk Building Lobbies - Good Way To Meet Your Roosevelt Island Neighbors

A Roosevelt Island Residents Association (RIRA) Networking Breakfast was held Saturday Morning for residents of Riverwalk Buildings at 405, 415, 425 and 455 Main Street in Southtown. The Building Lobby meet and greet allowed RIRA volunteers to familiarize Riverwalk residents about RIRA and and to invite them to participate in future RIRA activities.
Free coffee was provide by Starbucks, bagels and breakfast snacks from the Riverwalk Bar & Grill, information was distributed, Roosevelt Island caps were sold and most importantly, new relationships were formed.
Future RIRA Networking Breakfasts are intended for other Roosevelt Island buildings as well.
Excellent job by RIRA's Social, Cultural, and Educational Committee, Robin, Lynn and the other volunteers.

never heard about this meeting, I saw them on the way out the door to work and wondered why the building had not told the tenents? They were collecting money for RIRA and at the time I had 3 dollars on me. What does RIRA do with the money?

I hope that one day I can read teh RIRA and RIOC articles in the WIRE and read about more than what a beautiful day it was on RI on the weekend, or my how nice the flowers look here. Still waiting for hardcore reporting from both entities about the issues that press this island everyday and how things effect the people, children and animals here.
I do not care about someone payling guitar, or someone having a meet and greet breakfast...what is being done about people getting shot here, what is being done about the lack of Greenn inviitiative when it comes to island wildlife here, the drugs that you smell in the air while walking past the church and PSD office.
I guess you have to live on the island to understand some of those issues, all of RIOC members should be required to live on this island, how can you govern a community when you do not.
