UnOrthodox by Ms Deborah Feldman is an amazing five star work of fiction! Its also amazing that Simon & Schuster went to print with it as a work of non fiction. To begin with:Fact offered: Hasidic women graduate school at a 4th grade level-false. (Many Hasidic women work at jobs, employed by Jews and non-Jews, requiring way more than a 4th grade education). Fact offered: Hasidic women have a curfew-false.(I see Hasidic women in the subways and department stores all hours of the night).Fact offered: Hasidic women cant go to restaurants-false. .(I see Hasidic women in restaurants regularly).Fact offered: She was clueless sexually until her wedding night-false. (Whoever knows her from her old life, says one of the reasons she was constantly being thrown out of schools, is her incessant talk of sexually related and other vulgar topics in school).Despite Ms. Feldman living among Hasidic people, she went to an Orthodox school, Beth Jacob, in her younger years, which was totally absent of anyone Hasidic, and was thrown out of there because of behavior, mentioned above. It was only because of being thrown out of other, more moderate schools, that she was enrolled in Satmar by an aunt who had pull, other schools not wanting to take her, with her reputation. Had she continued in her original Beth Jacob path, she would have ended up going to college, or beyond, as the majority of Beth Jacob students do.I can go on and on.She doesn't differentiate between Chassidism and modern day Orthodoxy, whose followers live religious lives, similarly, but are highly educated with advanced degrees. There are great differences. Might she be negatively impressed with Jack Lew, Obama's Chief of Staff and Senator Joseph Lieberman, two highly admired Orthodox Jews, of hundreds of thousands worldwide? And a great percentage of doctors and lawyers in New York City and beyond, who are Orthodox Jews? Does she even know who they are?Shes having fun and enjoying popularity with her mission now. She's a conversation piece at the moment. What will she do for excitement next, when the buzz wears down? Who really respects her for her cheap and nasty mud slinging? So people are getting an enjoyable read. How long will the media be interested in her? Not one second longer than the next scandalous book gets published.Kardashian she's not. No beauty. Not her fault, not her choice.Einstein she's not. No genius. Not her fault, not her choice.Joan Rivers she's not. No comedienne. Not her fault, not her choice.Just a babbling buffoon, a seethingly hateful person whose uppermost goal is fun. And that IS her choice.
She is an example of what not to become, what not to aspire to be, capitalizing on hate, mockery, meanness and exaggeration.

Again this Kardashian nonsense? Abe, are you just copying and pasting the same comments everywhere? Deborah is WAY prettier than any of those fake, no talent Kardashians. They aren't "beauties," but Deborah definitely is, and she is a great writer too!
