How about an East River Kayak trip with the Long Island City Community Boat House


starting right across the river from Roosevelt Island's Lighthouse Park at Hallets Cove (next to Socrates Sculpture Park)

Enjoy a leisurely paddle from Hallets Cove (Vernon Blvd at 31st Ave) to our Anable Basin boathouse (46-01 5th St). Please note that this is a one way trip that ends two miles south of where it begins. Actual time on water should be approximately 75 minutes.

At the end of the paddle, there's a really good casual outdoor waterfront restaurant nearby at the Anable Basin Bar & Grill

Before the kayak paddle, you can also check out the Kite Making Workshop at FDR Four Freedoms Park

and Yoga on the Lawn.

In the evening, there is the Roosevelt Island Outdoor Movie Showing of Inception at Southpoint Park.
