Gluck bought the complex for a reported 156 million and said he will leave the Mitchell lama program. One bedrooms that were 1,000.00 per month now going for 4,795 .00 sounds like Roosevelt island.

RIOC should ALWAYS post a HUGE sign all over the island and on the train station and at all buildings when the F train is out and not going either to Queens or Manny! If there was an evacuation for some reason how would people know how to get off the island quick? I tire of going to the F train only to find out it is not running either way, yet there were no signs posted before hand on the bus stops or none of the building door men have any idea either! For God's sake, it is important at all times for all islanders and tourist even to know how the heck to get off the island in case of emergency!

Here's the story Bill was referring to: http://www.nypost.com/p/news/local/manhattan/tribeca_brs_made_into_brs_ZafTYoEHPtm4YnZ0SGnOLK This is what landlords are doing these days: Converting one BRs into two BRs, then raising the rent exponentially. The landlord by cutting the one bedroom into two enables the sharing of the outrageously expensive apt. Once again, landlord greed has no limit.

You're referring to George Whitmore Jr.? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Career_Girls_Murders That travesties and injustice of that case in connection with Whitmore led to the Miranda rights.
What makes you think the people on RI think the police are so honest? The police, like everyone else, are human - with the same failings and problems as everyone else. They will always cover for each other - the same thing happens everywhere. Unfortunately, the consequences of cover-ups and dishonesty are much more serious and far-reaching in l/e, as the case of Whitmore, and many other cases, illustrate. On RI, didn't we just have about 6 months of a cross-section of residents getting up and complaining about over-enforcement and harassment at RIOC Board meetings and so forth? I doubt if anyone, rich or poor, seriously believes the entire criminal justice system - from the cops to the prosecutors to the courts - is truly completely honest or fair. Like so many other aspects of society, it consists of humans - including all their failings, and for this reason, can always stand to be improved.

They could also put notifications on the red bus "zipper" signs - like they do with upcoming movies. There is no Coney Island- or Manhattan-bound F train service this weekend - it is running toward Queens. I agree that RIOC could put signs up around the island once they know about the train disruptions so that residents can plan their trips accordingly.

They are actually NEVER working properly on weekends. MTA is just about as useless as RIOC and PSD. Overpaid bafoons.
