I wonder if the RIOC puts a cap on the number of participants before they allow a race. And if so, how many? I have been participating in quite a few races here on the island and they usually have maybe 500 runners max. A month ago, though, there was the NYC 10k and while I doubt their claim that it was thousands of runners it was definitely a lot more than a thousand (I didn't run it but I watched it). IMHO, it was way too many to accommodate to run along the seawall.

Just wondering.
