OMG! What the h*#@ happened to this once top school where so many of our Roosevelt Island kids went? This was once one of the top performing schools in Manhattan!

When are the technology nerds moving onto the island.

That was a long, long time ago. The school declined for years and is now on the way back up.

The middle school still has a long way to go. I went to this year's middle school fair and I am very sure 217's table was the loneliest and least visited tables of all. I did feel sorta sorry for them. According to the middle school handbook they get a lot less applicants for the seats they open up in 6th grade. I assume most kids are continuing on from 5th grade.
