More on the Smart Sign free Bike Guard registration:
and:
MyAssetTag.com will provide a free bicycle registration service for residents of Roosevelt Island. The BikeGuard registry system found success on college campuses, but this is the system's pilot run supplying tags for an entire urban community free of charge. Representatives from MyAssetTag.com will place a small QR sticker on residents’ bicycles. Residents enter bike return contact information privately into the highly secure system in case of bike theft or loss. When the island’s Public Safety Department finds a bicycle, a quick sticker scan can help reunite bike and owner with ease.
Bike New York's plans for Roosevelt Island as well as Smart Sign bike registration program were discussed during April 7 Roosevelt Island Operating Corp (RIOC) Operations Advisory Committee meeting. Here's what happened.
