As I told her at bedside: You're A Brave Girl. Nina helped another MSTDA board member, Roberta Hershey in her final years with cancer. Robbie passed on January 1, 2013 and, as bad luck would have it, Nina then discovered she had her own health to now worry about. How Unjust.

The Main Street Theatre is the second largest organization on the Island (or at least it was before RIOC delayed several years the repair of their cultural center). There are many generations of dancers, children and adults, who knew Nina, her ever-present smile and cheeriness, and a making-everything-just-right attitude all around her.

Nina was truly a special person. We had known each other casually through our daughters' attending the same elementary and high schools and were delighted to re-connect as RI residents. She was competent to the NTH degree at managing the operations and finances of MSTDA. Nina kept me updated on Rebecca's education and professional pursuits and was her daughter's greatest champion. She gave so much to the community and will be missed by many.

Nina and I first met in 1973 and remained friends for years. I'm in complete shock and at a loss for words. My dear friend Nina was the vital lady whose smile kept the rest of us always in admiration. I only wish this was a nightmare. RIP my dear friend, Nina. Andrew

I worked with Nina and her husband John at a print shop in LIC in the 1980's. She was a pleasure to work with, always with a smile and always encouraging. I am sorry to just learn this news. I'll remember her as a special person.
