Amazing New York Yankee Shortstop Derek Jeter Wins Final Home Game Of Great Career With Walk Off Single To Right Field- Thank You For All The Great Memories

Everyone just knew that when the Baltimore Orioles tied the game against the Yankees in the top of the ninth and that Derek Jeter was batting third in the bottom of the inning that he would find a way to win the game.

And Jeter did just that.

Simply amazing!!!!

During the post game press conference Derek Jeter said:
...I know there’s a lot of people that have much more talent than I do throughout the course of my career, not just now and I can honestly say I don’t think anyone played harder. I don’t. Maybe just as hard, but I don’t think anyone had more of an effort.

Every single day I went out there and tried to have respect for the game and play it as hard as I possibly could. And I did it here in New York, which I think is much more difficult to do. And I’m happy for that...
That's the reason, besides the statistics and memorable plays (flip to Posada game, diving into stands against Red Sox, Jeffrey Maier home run, Mr. November, 5 for 5 3,000 hit game), Derek Jeter is a great ballplayer and is so respected.

Here's the rest of Jeter's very interesting press conference.

Derek Jeter played baseball the right way

and baseball fans, particularly NY Yankee Fans, thank him for that.

How do you know those are PSD personnel vehicles?.

Assuming?

If you think cameras will reorder and be at the best place at all times, you are mistaken.

You would need one in every single landing and staircase in motor gate.

Lots of speculation. A camera is not a crime fighter. It can serve as a deterrent and it can serve as video evidence, but that's it. That's not a guarantee at any level.

NotMyKid: I know PSD officers park there because I've seen them park their cars there. There's no speculation, the cameras are clearly pointed away from the customers' cars as anyone can see from standing beneath the camera.

I agree with you that a security camera can serve as a deterrent and also serve at video evidence, but if the criminal knows the cameras are positioned poorly, then vandalism like the photo below (photo 1) is possible and goes undeterred and undetected because, even though there is a security camera 30 feet away (photo 2, camera in center of aisle), the camera is capable of watching, but it's not.

I'm not sure why you argue this point: PSD officers find the Island's camera system inadequate because it isn't a good tool for crime. The recent "hate crime" was not captured on video, even though there was a camera nearby.

A camera is not a sure shot. Psd parks at a specific area. You showed different areas.

NotMyKid: Of course, problem is much of Motorgate camera system (3A, 4A, 4B, 4C, 5A, 5B, 6A, 6B, 7A, 7B, 7C, and more), not just a single camera. If you park in those areas, it's unlikely that your car will be visible.

Apparently Farance still has not seen the CCTV monitors at PSD, nor had a conversation with McManus about the camera angles.

Meanwhile, Ms. Indelicato writes in her column that the newly-installed camera system is being tested/optimized:

"Camera System

The newly installed island-wide security camera system is substantially complete and currently operational. Right now, the system is undergoing a 30-day monitoring period to determine and address any potential issues. After this period is complete and any problems are resolved, the next phase of the project will begin. During this time, Public Safety will work with the IT department to identify additional locations for camera placement. A Request for Proposals will be released seeking qualified vendors to complete the last phase of installation."

Instead of repeatedly bashing RIOC-PSD on this issue, Frank could write a straightforward letter to Mr. McManus listing his camera angle recommendations. That is the constructive thing to do rather than go around saying people are going to be attacked at Motorgate with no footage available of the incident. That's such a dumb argument that Farance makes anyway, since the garage did not have cameras since it was constructed up until quite recently; why wasn't Farance screaming about the lack of car/customer security for the past 30+ years? But, Farance always goes for the sensationalistic fear-mongering approach - any excuse to bash RIOC, or RIOC-PSD - since they, like the rest of RI, do not "bow down" before Farance to acknowledge his "superior knowledge/insight."
