I agree that the pay scale is too low. I get the impression that there is no qualification or encouragement for the PSOs to stay in shape; is that right? Yes - you have done well in landing the job @ Corrections and the accredited agency (although the only thing I could find is that it would be an accrediting agency - is that right?). So, maybe having worked at PSD at least is a plus on any PSO's resume even if it doesn't pay well.

If you have more suggestions on how PSD could be improved, please let us know. I hear what you are saying - that it hasn't reached its full potential, despite the leadership of McManus for the past 18 months or so. Do you think technology is not being utilized as fully as it can be? Or simply that the low pay scale means those interested in l/e simply are working elsewhere where they will receive more $?

If you read the audit, what was your reaction to it? Here is the link to the document in case you did not read it

Depends if the officer walked each hallway. If the officer focuses on staircase activity. It all depends on how the officer performed that patrol.

REGARDLESS...

WHAT IS SHOWN FROM THESE PATROLS? Where are the summonses and arrests?

WHAT ARE THE OFFICERS DOING WHEN THEY ENCOUNTER CRIMINALITY?

Are they shooing the perps away? Looking the other way? Still Told to not make arrests?

WHAT PRODUCTIVITY IS BEING DONE?

Why is PSD still tied with their hands behind their backs for making arrests?

Simple...

Rips has no gun! One cannot be FULL SERVICE with no guns!

They cannot cower in fear when a man with a weapon job comes over. They need to be able to ENGAGE.

I have said my suggestions in the past. Fell on deaf ears.

They need more training, they need to be labeled full police officers as perp NYS CRIMINAL PROCEDURE LAW 1.20.

They need to be able to take an accident report, which they pawn off to nypd meanwhile they are legally allowed to take such report.

They are not even connected to STATE POLICE COMPUTERS.

So many things that can be fixed for the department to be much better.

It's crazy. Pathetic,
