Bilingual Birdies - French; Thursdays, October 1, 8, 15, 22, 29 at 11AM; Children; Learn French vocabulary words through live music, movement, and puppetry.

We Are New York English Conversation Group; Fridays, October 2, 9, 16, 23, 30 at 10:30AM-12:30PM; Adults; 15 Seats; First come, first served; Practice speaking English by watching and discussing episodes of "We Are New York," which is about everyday situations. The characters speak slowly and clearly. For Intermediate Level English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL).

Science Fiction Book Discussion Tuesday, October 6, 6:30-8PM; Adults; The group will discuss "Journey to the Center of the Earth" by Jules Verne. The Science Fiction Book Discussion meets the first Tuesday of the month (September-June) at 6:30 PM to discuss a Science Fiction novel or a short story collection.

Graffiti Art Workshop Thursday, October 8, 4PM; Teens; Learn about the history of hip-hop and practice your graffiti art style. Presented by David Alicea.

Halloween Craft, Thursday, October 15, 3pm-4pm; Children ages 4 and older; Make a 3-D jack-o-lantern with paper and glue. All materials will be provided and are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Book Discussion Thursday, October 15, 6:30PM-8PM; Adults; The group will discuss "William Wells Brown: An African American Life" by Ezra Greenspan. The book provides an overview of the life of a former slave who became one of most accomplished writers of the 19th century.

Movie Night: "Time After Time" Tuesday, October 20, 6PM; Adults; (1979, Rated PG, 112 minutes) H.G. Wells travels to present-day San Francisco to catch Jack The Ripper. Starring Malcolm McDowell, David Warner, and Mary Steenburgen. Directed by Nicholas Meyer.
