Roosevelt Island was the subject of comedy bits by Jerry Seinfeld and Fred Armisen.
Jerry Seinfeld jokes about the opening of the Roosevelt Island Tram in 1977
and Fred Armisen gives his impression of a Roosevelt Island accent in 2014 (starting at the 3 minute 50 second mark).
Comedian Buddy Hackett was a long time Roosevelt Island resident as was Grandpa Munster Al Lewis. Comedian Andrea Rosen grew up on Roosevelt Island too.
