Roosevelt Island Hawk Spotted At Capobianco Field Last Saturday Found Dead Today - What Happened?

Last Saturday, Roosevelt Island residents looked up at a Capobianco Field Tree and were delighted to spot this hawk sitting on a tree branch

gazing out over it's domain.

But, Roosevelt Island resident and Wildlife Freedom Foundation President Rossana Ceruzzi reports that the female hawk was found dead today. According to Ms. Ceruzzi:
The hawk is dead. It's such a loss. The hawk was confused outside of Gristedes about 5 PM. The Public Safety Department called me but it was too late to save this beauty.

The question is - what is going on?
Stay tuned as we try to find out what is going on?
