Help Save A Life - Roosevelt Island RISA Blood Drive Advanced Sign Up Saturday June 2, June 9 & June 16 At Good Shepherd Plaza - Blood Donation On June 16, Roosevelt Island Day

You can help save a life by donating blood.

The annual Roosevelt Island Blood Drive began last Saturday at the Good Shepherd Plaza next to the Farmers Market.

Roosevelt Island Seniors Association (RISA) Blood Drive organizer Sherie Helstien and Roosevelt Island Residents Association (RIRA) members Bafode Drame and Frank Farance were recruiting donors last Saturday to give blood on Roosevelt Island Day - June 16 at the Seniors Center (546 Main Street).

Ms Helstien reports:
The Roosevelt Island Senior Association is putting on the 18th Annual Blood Drive. Advance sign-ups continue on Saturday, 6/2, 6/9 and 6/16 (Roosevelt Island Day) from 10am-2pm, at the Good Shepherd Plaza.

If it rains, please look for us across the street in front of 546 Main Street. If a prospective donor cannot make it out to our sign-up table on the pre-donation Saturdays, they may sign-up on line here. Just make sure to sign up on the Roosevelt Island drive site!

Anyone who doesn't sign up in advance, may walk into the Senior Center on 6/16, between 10am-3:45pm, and sign-up in "real time" to donate then and there.

The actual blood collection takes place on Saturday, 6/16 at the Senior Center, 546 Main Street from 10am-4:00pm.
Mr Farance and Mr. Drame add:

By last Saturday afternoon, at least 22 Roosevelt Island volunteers signed up to be NY Blood Center donors on Roosevelt Island Day, June 16.

You can sign up tomorrow June 2, June 9 or on June 16. You can also sign up online.

Help save a life.

And thank the volunteers who are organizing the Roosevelt Island Blood Drive.
