Good News, Roosevelt Island Tram Platform Renovation Project Done And Both Cabins Back In Service Today - Will "Hot As Hell" Cabins Ever Get Air Conditioning?

Good news this afternoon. The Roosevelt Island Tram Platform Renovation project has been completed

and both cabins are now operating.

According to Roosevelt Island Operating Corp (R(OC) Public Information Officer Alonza Robertson:
The Roosevelt Island Operating Corporation (RIOC) announced that “as of 4:38 p.m. today, July 3, both cabins of the Roosevelt Island Tram are now back in service. The platform construction work is complete.”

Both MetroCard vending machines have also been re-opened. The Tram will operate on a regular weekday schedule during the Fourth of July weekend.

RIOC thanks Island residents and the public for their patience during the construction period.
