Grand Re-Opening Of The Roosevelt Island Tram Scheduled For November 30 At 11:AM - Then We Will Cross The East River On The Roosevelt Island Tram
We're almost there. Just eight more days and the Roosevelt Island Tram will be back in operation transporting passengers back and forth over the East River between Manhattan and Roosevelt Island starting on Tuesday, November 30. How do we know? Well, the Roosevelt Island Operating Corp (RIOC) announced an opening celebration for the Tram on November 30 at 11 A.M. Presumably, regular Tram service will be available later that same day.
Soon, as the song says, We Will Be Crossing The East River On The Roosevelt Island Tram. Yay!

Here's a couple of pictures of the Tram undergoing some of it's final testing.

les photos sont magnifiques.
Can't wait! We've loved watching all the test runs but now we want ON baby!
My favorite feature of Roosevelt Island, back in all its glory!
It's great that the Tram will be back, but I will miss the Red Bus going to Manhattan. I live on River Road and it was just 2 min walk to the Bus stop and then 10 min by bus to Manhattan. Thank you, Red Bus!
I wish there was an update on rioc.com about this.
Does anyone know if the tram going to be available for the Tuesday evening commute, for example?
Tram will be open for afternoon / evening commute back home.
Excellent, thanks
