"Eliminating parking on Main St is not the solution - there are residents who are complaining about the lack of parking simply to unload groceries/passengers nearby their buildings as it is."

How about letting people unload but not park? The island is way too small, IMHO, to allow street parking outside Motorgate or the Octagon. As mentioned here or somewhere else in the past, Motorgate is only three quarters built. Plenty of capacity that can be added if needed.

And yeah, bicycling can be more dangerous than driving a car if you don't know what you are doing. But to be honest, this is all about car culture in this country. There is no good real reason why there is so much tension when it comes to road usage but it's just about "tradition" and "culture." And that, IMHO, is dumb. We all could start change our thinking and acceptances...

How is it that nobody has commented on the fact that the double-striped yellow lines on the Helix roadway are practically non-existent? Perhaps RIOC should first tackle this problem first for existing automobile traffic before we start commenting on bicycle safety.

And worse, not only is the Manhattan station tram elevator out of service, but today the red lift is also out of service.
RIOC President Charlene Indelicato is behaving like she, too, is out of service when it comes to the needs of this community.

Governor Cuomo needs to replace her ASAP with someone who will get the elevator and lift fixed!

Bicycle and automobile traffic have been co-existing. Let's tackle both problem together because they need to be tackled together with one eye on the other.
