Roosevelt Island Outdoor Tennis Court Permits Currently Not Available - RIOC Says Tennis Court Permits Will Be Available In Second Week Of May

A reader sent in the following question regarding the use of the outdoor Roosevelt Island Tennis Courts:

I have been waiting to sing up for the outdoor courts tennis pass, but its has not been available on line as of yet and the gates are closed, do you know when can we apply for the pass since it will take 10days-2 weeks to obtain it,

The Roosevelt Island Operating Corp (RIOC) permit web page currently indicates:

Tennis permit applications for the 2012 season will be available in late- March. PLEASE DO NOT FILL OUT A FIELD PERMIT APPLICATION.

 I asked RIOC Vice President of Operations Fernando Martinez when the Roosevelt Island outdoor tennis court permits would be available. RIOC's Press Spokesperson replied:

The permits will be available the second week of May.
