Hudson Related Proud Of Roosevelt Island Riverwalk Building 7 Construction Track Record - Responds To Concerns Raised By NYC Council Member Ben Kallos

Image Of Roosevelt Island Riverwalk Building 7 Construction Site Today

Earlier today, Roosevelt Island and Upper East Side NYC Council Member Ben Kallos published a guest blog post regarding construction safety concerns at Hudson Related's Roosevelt Island Riverwalk Building 7 site. An excerpt:
... Many of you may have noticed ongoing demonstrations on Roosevelt Island and might have wondered the reasons behind them. Here’s some context: six of Riverwalk’s nine buildings have already been built, with three more still to go. However, protesters are raising concerns that construction on Riverwalk 7 is being completed by workers who are not being paid a living wage, health benefits, disability benefits, or retirement benefits and who may not have the apprenticeship training and years of on-the-job experience that they need for construction to be safer for both themselves and the residents of Roosevelt Island...
A Hudson Related spokesperson replied to this issue:
Hudson, Related and Monadnock Construction are proud of our track record at Riverwalk. We have an OCIP (Owner Controlled Insurance Program) to ensure that every construction worker is covered by workmen’s compensation insurance. The wages paid by subcontractors to their workers are far in excess of any living wage requirement being considered by the City. We employ a full-time Site Safety manager, licensed by New York City’s Department of Buildings and OSHA, who provides safety training and orientation and implementation of our site safety plan.

So first you never answered my question as to how deblasio move is pro-student which we can all agree is pro-family/pro-tax payer?

In fact rather than explaining how its not a payback, you are acknowledging that - so you are okay with special interests as long as they align with you, but other wise they are morally reprehensible. funny how only highly successful charters were targeted to help narrow performance gap for UFT.

See I am libertarian, not a republican, there's actually other parties. Libertarians are one who do take any money, want small gov't, personal liberty, and economic growth. So in line with members of that party I want all purchasing of influence to be illegal and with jail terms. Look at the last year in democratic scandals they should all be in jail, similar to republicans.

BTW - clear you didn't like school, public education system. Public education was was not fought for by founding fathers otherwise it would be an inalienable right defined in out constitution (BTW you will notice affordable housing also not mentioned there). It instead came through in post industrial / new deal reform ages. Prior to that its was community driven and allowed parents to have control over agenda through their community just like charters do in NYC today.

Funny you mention Ms. Moskowitz who cost DiBlasio in his attempts at a council seat and Board of Ed job. Sure their is nothing personal there. Looks like you elected the left wing, less successful version of Chris Christie.

Is your spelling supposed to be a joke, like calling everyone but yourself, "hipsters?" It's about as funny, that is to say, not at all.
