No Roosevelt Island Skateboarding, Bicycle Riding, Roller Blading or Scooter Riding at Good Shepherd Plaza Says RIOC Signage

Reported in May 2015:

Looks like the new benches at Roosevelt Island's Good Shepherd Plaza make an attractive surface for Roller Skate surfers.

The Roosevelt Island Operating Corp (RIOC) is looking for ways to stop the benches from being used for Roller Skate and Skateboard surfing.
The Roosevelt Island Operating Corp (RIOC) recently installed signage warning of No Skateboarding,

Bicycle Riding, Roller Blading or Scooter Riding at Good Shepherd Plaza.

Some have used the area behind beneath Queensboro Bridge next to the Tennis Bubble

for Roller Blade surfing.

Others have used the railing near East River in Southtown for Snowboard Sliding.

Where's there is a will, there is a way.

UPDATE 1:10 - From a long time Roosevelt Island resident:
Ridiculous. I have lived here for 40 years, and as kids we always skated and rode our bikes in this area. The real problem is the ugly benches they put in this area, not the kids playing on them. Once again RIOC is overstepping their bounds.
