2 to 3 PM

Join us as we welcome Grow To Learn NYC

Pollinator Workshop 2 to 3 PM

Location:Butterfly Corridor Site by the main gate of the Roosevelt Island Garden

Grow to Learn staffers Rasheed Hislop and Jessie Kerr Vanderslice will facilitate. Some people might think that all insects are pests and are a threat to your garden plants, but if you ever wondered about whether there might be insects that can help your garden join us for this workshop.

We will uncover insects that play a critical role in the life cycles of your garden plants from those that prey on herbivores and other harmful insects to those that consume weeds that might otherwise compete with your garden plants for water, light and nutrients. Participants will be able to learn about the life cycles and biology of two particular species of beneficial insects, butterflies and ladybugs.

Experts Rasheed Hislop & Jessie Kerr Vanderslice will be around until 5PM.
