Roosevelt Island resident Trevre Andrews took a recon last evening of a snowy Roosevelt Island night and came back with these pictures.

At 6:30 this am, it was still lovely outside - Red buses running to and from Tram and Subway, no wind, and MOSTLY clean sidewalks on the Westview, Island House and Rivercross side of Main Street --
However, Southtown/Related - unlike the 5 earlier storms, NO SIDEWALK cleaning at this hour -- but thanks to RIOC & DSNY - could walk on West Channel road to subway, where MTA cleaned to its best ability.
Waited 10 minutes for F train, 1 minute for R train at 34th St. and was at my Union Square office by 7:30 (after nearly getting killed at E 16th Street.
Another big thanks to RIOC - who again managed to clean Main Street, most sidewalks, etc., along with the Rivercross staff, who cleaned where RIOC seemed to miss. We are pretty darned lucky to be here when it snows.
We lucky ones, don't have to go to work today, but the employees of RIOC from Grounds and Buses and Public Safety are there in full force. Thank you for taking care of us.
We are very lucky to live on this lovely, Island when it snows- RIOC and all the Grounds Crews do great jobs of plowing, cleaning the snow up and out fo the way.
Public Safety, the Red Buses and here in WV, our great People that keep our walkways and pathways shoveled and cleared and salted at all times...
A Huge Thank You to Everybody in what is already a very long Winter in terms of the snow removal..
I have been lucky enough to see the gorgeous snow for about 27.5 years now and it is a " Winter Wonderland" here on Roosevelt Island for us snow-lovers...
Congratulations on the success you've had so far with your blog. I have one myself which lists free events New Yorkers can attend each day. We're just trying to help New Yorkers save money in any way that we can.
I'd like to exchange links with you so we can spread some traffic around between each other. If interested, please place a comment on my site when you've added my link and I'll do the same.
Roosevelt Island is a mixed income, racially diverse waterfront community situated in the East River of New York City between Manhattan and Queens and is jurisdictionally part of Manhattan. The Roosevelt Island Tramway, which connects Roosevelt Island to the rest of Manhattan, has become the iconic symbol of Roosevelt Island to its residents.
The Purpose of this Blog is to provide accurate and timely information about Roosevelt Island as well as a forum for residents to express opinions and engage in a dialogue to improve our community.

Love, love, love the snow. Here's hoping for more inches of this white goodness over the rest of this winter.
