No Surprise - Roosevelt Island's F Train 5th Slowest In NYC Transit System
According to an article in today's NY Post:
Two of every 10 of the city's subway trains run late, according to a new measure of on-time performance being adopted by the MTA.Not surprising to Roosevelt Islanders, the F Train is the fifth most late subway line in the New York City Transit System.
... Under the measure, called "absolute on-time performance," 21.6 percent of all trains were five minutes or more late in August - compared to 9.8 percent under the old measuring system.
New York City Transit officials said the new system provides a more honest measure of trains' performance, and better reflects straphangers' experience. Metropolitan Transportation Authority watchdogs agree.
"It's a no-excuses kind of measure - did the train show up on time, or not? No excuses," said Bill Henderson of the Permanent Citizens Advisory Committee to the MTA, NYC Transit's parent agency.
