Looks like the Roosevelt Island Operating Corp (RIOC) Board of Directors Operations Committee has a very full agenda on it's plate for it's December 9 meeting. According to RIOC:
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that a meeting of the Operations Advisory Committee of the RIOC Board of Directors will be held on Thursday, December 9, 2010 at 5:30 p.m. at the RIOC administrative office, 591 Main Street, Roosevelt Island, New York.The RIOC Operations Committee meeting is open to the public and available soon thereafter as an audio web cast.
The agenda for the meeting will be:

2. Discussion on Electric Car Charging stations for Motorgate and expanding current study for LED lighting, Solar Power and Verdant Tidal Power

Most of the passengers would prefer "it (the bus) goes a bit around the round-about and backs up into the spot on the south side" . It would be preferable to the haul from the north end of the road most of the time and winter is coming

Hope Ms. Torres & Mr. Martinez and RIOC Board members pay close attention to the need to have Red buses discharge and receive Tram passengers on the same side of the street as the RI Tram station and to get a shelter up ASAP especially with winter already here.
It would be nice if ALL Red bus drivers would use their radios during the afternoon/evening rush hour to coordinate and decrease the increasing frequently long waits at the subway by more and more people for bus service going north. If there are 3 -4 buses during the evening rush -- there should be shorter passenger wait times. Not every bus should be sitting at the Tram station waiting...
Perhaps an evening Octogon Express supported by Becker and Becker is not so out of the question to relieve long waits and extremely crowded conditions.
I take the subway daily during rush hour and in the evening following rush hour, and there is absolutely no problem with long waits for the Red Bus. And crowding isn't any worse than it's ever been, and would be solved entirely if the dimwits who board the bus first would just move to the back.
Speaking of the redbus has anyone considered making this fully subsidized. Honest to god I have wasted more of my NYC life waiting for people to find quarters, cards, and dollars, put them in the right hole, and cause the bus to have to wait. And for what? Maybe 5000 people a day, that is $1000 per day, less than 400k per year. Think how much time and energy it would save if it was just subsidized by RIOC. And buses shouldn't be waiting anywhere, If you are paying the driver anyway they should stop and go around the island as fast as they can. I have seen buses idle for up to 15 min, they could have made another lap in that time.
The long extended bus stops are being explained by the need to accommodate more than one bus at the time at the bus stops,
Why not learn from the airports and allow only one bus at the time at the bus "gate". If another bus comes it should wait elsewhere before it arrives at the bus stop.
As it is now passengers have to walk to the farthest end of the bus stops to make room for an imaginary second bus.
Let the drivers use their walkie talkies. They can eliminate the bunching by simply communicating with each other and should not be encourage to play "convoys".
