Scenes From Roosevelt Island Parents' Network Bee Mine Valentine Crafts And Story Time - Kids Make Black History Month Kente Cloth Too
Roosevelt Island Parents' Network Coordinator (RIPN) Eva Bosbach shares these photos and reports on the February 13 RIPN Bee Mine Valentine Crafts at the Seniors Center.
When it comes to making fun crafts with our children, Valentine's Day is one of our absolute favorite holiday crafts. For more info on RIPN, contact here.
There are endless possibilities
of what to do but since our children love animals
we thought of choosing something fun that involves them.
Thank you to all for joining our Bee Mine Valentine Craft
and Story Time for Kids.
Also, all the children created a ceremonial African Kente cloth together which they designed and colored themselves,
and learned about different cultures in celebration of the African heritage in honor of the Black History Month. The resulting Kente cloth
will remain with the Senior Center for their decoration purposes.
We are looking forward to seeing you at our future Crafts with Kids workshops. You can save the dates below.
- March 19, 10-11am, Easter Craft
- April 16, 10-11am, Spring Craft and
- May 7, 10-11am, Mothers Day Craft.
Thank you all and Happy February! :)
