Gristedes Owner John Catsimatidis Promised Improvement At Roosevelt Island Gristedes Supermarket By March 1- Any Signs Of Progress?

Roosevelt Island Gristedes Image From Roosevelt Island 360

As reported in this February 2 Post, Gristedes owner John Catsimatidis promised to improve the quality of his Roosevelt Island Gristedes supermarket. The promise included this:
... Every item in the store is being removed from the shelves and checked for quality and proper dates. This will be accomplished by the end of February...
We're now in March - has there been any improvement?

You know what? I would never have thought that I would say this but I think Gristedes has improved somewhat. The register staff seems to be fresh and friendly. I've been getting a lot of discounts on many items I buy from there. Management needs to be shaken up, though, too. Still the same grumpy crowd.

The prices are still too high, though.

Prices still high, someone suggested senior discount should be all the time not just Tuesday and Wednesday. The manager always seems to go deaf whenever a cashier calls him if she has a problem ringing something up.
