Side by Side by Sondheim Comes To Roosevelt Island This Weekend March 27, 28 Presented By The Main Street Theater & Dance Alliance



Interested in a little musical theater this weekend? Well, hold on to your hats because Side by Side by Sondheim is coming to Roosevelt Island presented by our very own Main Street Theater & Dance Alliance this Saturday night March 27 8PM and Sunday afternoon March 28 3 PM


The Main Street Theater & Dance Alliance is located at 540 Main Street at the Red Awning across from the Good Shepherd Chapel. Here's a brief You Tube Clip of the Main Street Theater's 2008 preview performance of Jailhouse Rock from Gerry's Bus Stop Cafe.

The NY Times reported on a recent concert celebrating Stephen Sondheim's 80th birthday:

Inside the hall, where the mood was more exhilarated than elegiac, an unspoken question hung in the air: Where did all that time go?...
and that the Henry Miller Theater will be renamed the Stephen Sondheim Theater.
After five decades of critically acclaimed work on Broadway, the composer and lyricist Stephen Sondheim, below, is receiving a rare laurel and one of the few that had not yet come his way: his name on a Broadway theater...
