Roosevelt Island Youth Program Soccer League Mid Season Recap From The Commissioner - Goaltending, Scoring & Comraderie

The Roosevelt Island Youth Program (RIYP) Soccer League is halfway through it's 16th season. RIYP Soccer Commissioner Andre Chichagov provides this recap:

The RIYP Soccer League mid-season round up and the road to the playoffs has arrived!!

This season has been a emotion filled roller coaster like every other prior season. We have seemingly unstoppable teams being upset and goals scored by surprising players. In every division there has been tremendous growth combined with the ebbs and flows of sports.

The current standings are:

The consistent theme for every division has been goal tending and scoring.

In the absence of one, they have relied on the other to push forward to success. Teamwork and comraderie has grown while the execution on the field has ripened through the season. The 2017 Season of the Roosevelt Island Youth Program Soccer League

has created many memories that kids

will always remember.

The Twitterverse reports Roosevelt Island Tram lines stretching all the way to Sportspark

waiting to get on the one working Tram cabin during the ongoing Tram Platform repair project expected to last until the end of the year..
According to the MTA, no F train service was due to signal problems at Rockefeller Center.
One resident stuck in the long Tram Line this morning imagines bringing back the Queensboro Bridge Elevator to Roosevelt Island.

On a beautiful Saturday afternoon in September, I took the 5 minute NYC Ferry ride from Roosevelt Island to Long Island City to visit the LIC Flea & Food and met it's marketing manager, Elizabeth Aloni. She described what was available and invited Roosevelt Islanders to the LIC Flea.

The Autumn chill is in the air and the first sign of winter has appeared on Roosevelt Island.

The Roosevelt Island Subway Fruit Stand Vendor has a sign on the cart announcing that they are closing for their winter hiatus tomorrow.

Winter is coming.

Cheer up. Spring will come and the Roosevelt Island Subway Fruit Stand Vendor will be back.

UPDATE 5:55 PM - Oops. Correction. The Fruit Vendor is only closing for Saturday, October 14. Will re-open Sunday. Not taking the winter hiatus yet. Sorry for error.
