Make your own kite during our drop-in kite-making workshop for all ages in the Park's programming tent; kite flying on lawn. Workshop will be led by our Education Department. We will also be hosting an interactive kite flying demonstration on the park lawn from 1pm-5pm by Archie Stewart, a member of the American Kitefliers Association. (Rain date: Sunday, September 27th)
In recognition of the United Nations General Assembly and International Peace Day, visitors are invited to fly kites at the park all week long. On Wednesday, September 23, Thursday, September 24, and Saturday, September 26, visitors will have the opportunity to design and fly their own special kite, selecting stripes, colors, and symbols that represent their personal ideas about peace and freedom.
