Riverbank Bar & Grill To Open On Roosevelt Island - Our Long Local Dining and Drinking Nightmare May Be Over!
At long last, Roosevelt Island's long nightmare is over. After many years of getting on the Tram, the Subway or going to Queens to watch a game or just have a drink with friends at a bar, Roosevelt Islanders are finally going to have our very own Sportsbar and Grill. It will be located in the space adjacent to the Duane Reade in Riverwalk Building #4.
More details to follow on the Riverbank Bar & Grill plus another surprise addition to the Roosevelt Island food scene.
UPDATE - 8/25/09 - Roosevelt Island's renamed new eatery has opened as the Riverwalk Bar & Grill.

That is great news. Trellis must get off its behind now and improve the facilities!
About bloody time! Finally some competition to the craptastic Trellis. There may be hope for Roosevelt Island after all.
Trellis? You mean _The "Oh, the health department hasn't shut us down yet this week" Diner_? :)
owner of nonno's is the owner
What about monopoly?
China 1 owner is owner of Japanese restaurant, and Nonno's owner will be owner of new restaurant???
They decide about:
- quality off food...
- variety of food...
- prices...
We should be happy?!
oh please stop bitching about everything.
The "surprise" addition to the food scene is going to be a bagel/breakfast place. I spoke to teh owner a few mo ago and he mentioned both the bar and bagel place. SOOO looking forward to both!
i think that its great news that a bar resturant, and a breakfest express will be open, that delivers, and its next to the subway. lets be glad someone took an intrest in the island. thank you who ever you are and lots a luck.
Finally i dont have to leave the island to watch a ball game, or just sit down and have a beer.
will there be TVs and full bar, what kind of bar will it be, anyone know
I heard it's supposed to be like a Friday's but nicer with 10-15 tv's to watch the games, with a breakfast place on the duane reade side. It's about time!!
I heard full, bar, beer, wine and cocktails and a 25 ft long bar
