Looking For A Place To Hold Your New York City Fantasy Football Draft - Try Roosevelt Island's Riverwalk Bar & Grill - You'll Have A Good Time
So, you are looking for a place to hold your New York City NFL Fantasy Football Draft but are not sure where to go. What do you do? Come to Roosevelt Island of course.
OK - stop laughing - please stop laughing!
A request was made by a poster on the Rhythmism blog for suggestions regarding a venue to hold a fantasy football draft:
Attn bar or restaurant owners/managers/regulars I'm looking to rent or reserve private space in a bar or restaurant on Thursday, Sept 10 from around 7:00 til midnight. It's for a fantasy football draft.Someone else responded by suggesting Roosevelt Island's newest eatery - The Riverwalk Bar & Grill:
Requirements:
-manhattan
-private room
-plenty of space
-TV showing the NFL opening game
-fairly quiet otherwise
-bright enough to see across room
-not too expensive...
You should come to Roosevelt Island. Now that you have stopped laughing and before those of you who don't know start moaning and groaning about Roosevelt Island, be aware that though not physically connected to Manhattan, Roosevelt Island is jurisdictionally a Manhattan neighborhood and very easy to get to on the F Train or the Tram. No more than 10 minutes from Rockefeller Center's F Train or the Tram to a seat at the bar.
They just opened a bar / grill here with like 16 HDTVs.
Take the tram or the F Train. It's right there.
I'm pretty sure they'd be happy to accommodate you guys
Riverwalk Bar & Grill has only been open for a couple of weeks and they have already hosted several fantasy football drafts so I think the Rhythmism poster will have a good experience here on Roosevelt Island.
The food is pretty good, reasonably priced, the space attractive and ownership very personable. Try the Sweet Potato Fries, Mmmm very tasty. Also, thought not on the menu, the Calamari with Buffalo Sauce is very good. Ask for it.
Give the Riverwalk Bar & Grill a try.
Yelp had some other suggestions for a fantasy football draft venue.
