Crowding On Roosevelt Island F Train This Morning - Squeak, Squeak And Squeak

Image From Trevre Andrews

Received report from Roosevelt Island resident Trevre Andrews on this morning's F train commute.
I arrived at the Manhattan bound F-Train platform at 837 this morning. A train showed up at 847, bursting with people. Another train arrived right behind it which was also full, but I did manage to squeeze in, many did not. Sure this is rush hour, and it is probably also a problem not just for the RI riders but also for the prior stops in Queens where I am guessing the trains are equally overloaded in the mornings. Yes, this is probably partly due to the temporary tram outage, and we are not alone in crowded rush hour trains in NYC. That being said the squeaky wheel gets the grease...squeak...squeak...

I got on a relatively empty train about 2 minutes earlier, and had just missed one a very crowded one a couple of minutes before that. Timing is everything.

I personally think that the tram outage had pretty much no impact on subway service (yes, except for the dwell times but again, no negative impact whatsoever).

Where are all the people that screamed murder? Not one apology from our so-called community leaders that they were wrong, absolutely wrong, about what they "knew" about the *horrible* commute we were supposed to have without tram. I am a bit disgusted.

I was on the 8:57am and it was more crowded than usual. I think this was just a "burp" since I haven't had any problems getting on the train at the same time since the tram has been down.
Please remember that the tram was only built to serve until the subway was operational... Can't compare the people moving capabilities of tram versus subway.
The tram is great though, and will continue to give us all enjoyment (and tourists!) into the future.

I left at 10:30 am for a medical appointment (fasting) having delayed dinner last night in order
to make a little room for people going to work. Of course we can plan such contingencies when we have to. But wait and see the Tram utilization when it returns to service. Transportation at 15 minutes intervals beats the 60-minutes intervals on the red buses
