When Will The Roosevelt Island Cherry Blossoms Bloom? Hopefully In Time For Roosevelt Island April 13 Japanese Cherry Blossom Festival And April 20 Walking Tour

A reader asked:

When do the cherry trees blossom this year?

I've seen them in the past and it was a very pretty sight.

I asked Roosevelt Island HIstorical Society (RIHS) President Judy Berdy, who provides the annual Roosevelt Island Magnolia Blossom and Cherry Tree Blossom walking tours, that same question. Ms. Berdy replied:
Usually between April 15 and April 30. Hopefully.
Ms. Berdy adds:
Due to extensive damage to Coler Hospital grounds and Lighthouse Park our annual Magnolia Tour has been canceled this year.

We regret this cancellation. The Cherry Blossom Tour will operate on April 20th.

When Is Roosevelt Island At It's Most Beautiful Asks A New Resident?

Image of Roosevelt Island Cherry Tree From RIHS

When is Roosevelt Island at its most beautiful? That's a question asked by a new resident so she can show off Roosevelt Island to her dad.
I have only been living on Roosevelt Island since September, but I did visit once last spring when the Magnolia trees were in bloom. Now, my dad wants to take a trip to the city, but he wants to come when Roosevelt Island will be at its most beautiful. (Thinking about spring plans on a rainy day like this is kinda fun.) Would you happen to know the best time to see the flowers in bloom? I saw that last April you posted about the Magnolia walk, but I figured it wouldn't hurt to ask.
Any thoughts?
