Following up on last year’s rainbow-themed iteration, the "pop-up pool club" at Manhattan Park has gone in a more celestial direction this year, invoking the ocean more than the sky. The pool has been covered with an 8,000-square-foot painting by Manhattan-based artist Gregg Emery entitled, "Waves off Roosevelt Island."
The artist cites many sources of inspiration for the design including the opening pool scene in Goldfinger, the famous Japanese print, “Great Wave off Kanagawa and the natural geography of Roosevelt Island itself....
... Roosevelt Island’s pool is already open for the season with weekday costs set at $35 and $50 on weekends for non-Roosevelt Island residents (residents pay $25 and $35 respectively)....Below are the monthly and seasonal Manhattan Park Pool fees for Roosevelt Island residents and others.
