Roosevelt Island's NY State Senator Jose Serrano invites you to participate in a free Emergency Preparedness Training Session tomorrow, Thursday September 19 at the Cornell Tech Campus. According to Senator Serrano:

In recognition of Emergency Preparedness Month, Governor Cuomo's Citizen Preparedness Corps and Senator Serrano will continue their series of FREE Emergency Preparedness Training Sessions throughout the 29th Senate District with an event at Cornell Tech on Roosevelt Island. The training will take place on Thursday, September 19th from 3:00 - 4:30 pm and is designed to help prepare residents and their families for natural disasters and emergency situations. Event co-sponsors include Congresswoman Carolyn Maloney, Assembly Member Rebecca Seawright, City Council Member Ben Kallos, and Manhattan Community Board 8.

Senator Serrano and the American Red Cross in Greater New York will sponsor a free presentation designed to prepare individuals and families for emergencies in Roosevelt Island. This event is co-sponsored by Council Member Jessica Lapin and Assembly Member Micah Kellner.

Attendees will learn how to create a family disaster plan, build and maintain a supply kit, and keep loved ones safe and informed during times of disaster.

Senator Serrano, the American Redcross in Greater New York, and the NYC Office of Emergency Management will offer this free presentation, designed to prepare individuals and families for emergencies. Attendees will learn how to create a family disaster plan, build and maintain a supply kit, and keep loved ones safe and informed during times of disaster.
