Thanks to all of you friends and neighbors, for being the beating heart of this wonderful community and for making our island the safe place we call Home! I had a lot of fun putting this video together and I hope you'll enjoy it. Thank You to our amazing island resident Juanita Fleming for allowing me to use her song "Stand Together". I think it should be our Roosevelt Island Anthem for many years to come.

Long Time Roosevelt Island Resident And Jazz/Gospel Singer Juanita Fleming Performs Uplifting Get Things Done Song In Her Apartment During Coronavirus Pandemic Self Quarantine

Juanita Fleming is a long time Roosevelt Island resident as well as a talented Jazz and Gospel singer.

Ms Fleming's daughter, Rosha Gomez-Powell, who grew up on Roosevelt Island, reports that her mom wrote and performed Get Things Done during the Coronavirus Pandemic:

While COVID19 has taken center stage of the world, artists, like Juanita Fleming, are finding their own unique way to share positive music during this uncertain time. The call to find a collective voice to 'get things done' as a society and mantra for the whole world is so appropriate for today. Happy St Patrick's Day From Roosevelt Island - Check Out Our Virtual Irish Bar, Grab A Pint Of Your Favorite Brew And Hear Some Great Music From Mae Raney & Henry Raber

Mae Raney is a theater teacher at our local Main Street Theatre & Dance Alliance (MST&DA). According to MST&DA Executive Director Kristi Towey:

Mae has performed in several shows here and in numerous theaters around the city. She and Henry Raber perform in Irish bars all over Manhattan and were set to perform for the Roosevelt Island Disabled Association (RIDA) St. Patrick’s Day event.

Unfortunately, the RIDA St Patrick Day event was cancelled due to the Coronavirus health emergency as were any celebrations today.

But now imagine yourself with a pint of Guinness or whatever your favorite drink is and enjoy this wonderful St Patrick’s Day Facebook performance by Mae and Henry.  They're great, hope to see them live sometime.
