RIOC Selects Chashama As Roosevelt Island Artist In Residence To Provide Free Studio Space For Selected Visual Artists - Watch For Upcoming ChaShaMa Special Events, Dance Studio, New Camerata Opera Youth Workshops & More

The Roosevelt Island Operating Corp (RIOC) announced last October that the non-profit Chashama group



will fill the newly created role of Roosevelt Island Artist-in-Residence.

What's the explanation?

Turns out the Russians are coming to Roosevelt Island. The Americans, an excellent FX Channel TV program about a Russian husband and wife spy team in 1980's America is filming today at the Motorgate Garage.

Shades Of Blue TV Show Starring Jennifer Lopez & Ray Liotta Filming On Roosevelt Island Bridge And Motorgate Garage Roof Tonight - Don't Be Alarmed By Use Of Prop Weapons And Staged Emergency Responders

The new NBC TV cop show Shades Of Blue starring Jennifer Lopez and Ray Liotta



will be filming tonight on the Roosevelt Island Bridge

According to the Roosevelt Island Operating Corp (RIOC):
Please be advised on Friday, 7/10/15, the Roosevelt Island Bridge has been permitted for a Film Shoot which will involve the use of various prop weapons and staged emergency responders. Regular traffic will be reduced to one lane between the hours of 7 PM- 1 AM. During this time, expect delays and increased foot traffic in the area. Additionally, the film shoot will move to the roof of the Motorgate garage between the hours of 1 AM- 5 AM involving the use of emergency vehicles.

Person Of Interest TV Show Filming On Roosevelt Island Tomorrow - No Parking In Area Says RIOC

 No Parking Here Tomorrow For Person Of Interest Film Shoot

Reported previously that:
...the CBS television action drama series Person of Interest will be filming at the Good Shepherd Plaza AND at the Motorgate Parking Garage on Friday January 18th from 7 AM to 4 PM. Filming will also take place on Tuesday, January 22nd....
According to the Roosevelt Island Operating Corp (RIOC)
Please be advised that due to a film shoot on the Island on January 22nd, 2013, there will be No Parking at the following locations

No Parking between 527 Main St and 591 Main St from 7:00AM to 4:00PM
No Parking opposite 694 Main Street from 12:00PM to 9:00pm.

Don't Be Alarmed By Sound Of Weapons Being Fired - Person Of Interest Television Show Filming Friday and Tuesday At Roosevelt Island's Good Shepherd Plaza and Motorgate Garage



According the the Roosevelt Island Operating Corp (RIOC):

Please be advised the CBS television action drama series Person of Interest will be filming at the Good Shepherd Plaza AND at the Motorgate Parking Garage on Friday January 18th from 7 AM to 4 PM. Filming will also take place on Tuesday, January 22nd.

Good Shepherd Plaza- Main street traffic will only be interrupted during actual filming, typically lasting 1 - 2 minutes per "take", which will occur intermittently throughout the day. Public Safety will be on-site and will direct traffic as needed.

Motorgate Parking Garage- filming will take place on the ground level of the garage from 7 AM to 3 PM and will include scenes involving actors using blank-fire adapted weapons. There will be several FDNY and NYPD vehicles as well as safety personnel on site monitoring the entire perimeter.

Roosevelt Island Film Shoot At Motorgate Garage This Evening From 5 PM To Midnight - Is It Untitled Roland Emmerich Pilot?

Just received this advisory from the Roosevelt Island Operating Corp (RIOC):
Please be advised there will be a film shoot this evening, Friday March 9th, at Motorgate Parking Garage from 5:00 p.m. to midnight. Traffic and the ability to park will not be affected.
Anybody know what the film shoot is? According to On Location Vacation, today:
The Untitled Roland Emmerich Pilot is filming at Coler-Goldwater Hospital on Roosevelt Island.
Received confirmation that it is untitled pilot for ABC

Motorgate Parking Garage Advisory - Bruce Willis Coming To Roosevelt Island To Shoot A Couple of Dicks

Received the following advisory from RIOC regarding Motorgate Parking Garage:
Please be advised on Sunday, July 26, all cars must clear the roof of Motorgate by 7 p.m. Cars can park anywhere on levels 1 through 6 at that time.
Cars can be moved back to the roof after 7 p.m. on Monday, July 27. On Thursday, July 30, all cars must be clear of the 7th level until Saturday, August 1 at 7 p.m.

When parking on levels 1-6 please use the visitor parking spaces only and not the reserved spaces.

These requests are being made to accommodate a special event and we appreciate your cooperation.
What is the special event that requires cars to be moved from the Motorgate Parking garage? A movie shoot. According to RIOC:
Movie being shot is called "A Couple of Dicks" and it stars Bruce Willis and Tracy Morgan. Apparently a Cop Comedy being directed by Kevin Smith. They'll be at Motorgate Monday, July 27 and Friday, July 31. Should be interesting.
