Where's The Roosevelt Island Subway Fruit Stand Vendor? Weekend F Train Subway Service Disruptions Hurting Fruit Stand Business

Several readers have noticed the Roosevelt Island Subway Fruit Stand vendor

missing

from his usual spot in front of the Duane Reade store this past week and asked why?

In response to my inquiry, the Roosevelt Island Operating Corp (RIOC) reported that the Fruit Stand vendor will be returning to his regular spot but will close for the winter in December, as in past years, and then re-open in March.

The vendor also says that he has been losing business these past weekends due to the F Train subway service disruptions.
