RIOC Board of Director Meetings Now Being Webcast
RIOC Board of Director Meetings are now being webcast. The August 16, 2007 meeting is archived here. The webcasting of Board of Director meetings is a great tool for those who are interested in Roosevelt Island affairs, but cannot go to these meetings, to learn what is going on as well as an archival record of what was actually said.
There are also written transcripts of prior Board of Director Meetings here, although the latest archived is from May 17, 2007 and does not include the August meeting.

Why don't we have a RIOC rating form so residents can say things like whether the new RIOC is any better than the previous RIOC and say in what way? Also, what does RIOC do best and what do they do worst? That would help everybody including RIOC.
Why not post a notice on the kiosks that this blog exists? Tell people their comments are anonymous and untraceable. I'll bet we'd get more users
I intend to include a polling function for a variety of issues in the near future as you suggest. What you suggest however, can already be accomplised by using the comments section to present your views on existing blog posts. For issues of interest that may be missing from the blog, readers can email me suggestions or tips for future posts. Comments from readers are often used as a starting point for posts.
In regard to placing notices on the kiosks, I have already done that at the tram and subway station as well as around the Island in general. I will be doing more of that since the recent rain and bad weather have removed many of the flyers. I think that word of mouth and recommendatins by friends and neignbors is another way to get the word out about Roosevelt Islander.
Thank you for your thoughts and contributions. Please continue to do so.
Here is why RIOC would be much better off if I was a Member of the Board of Directors.
1) I am far better looking, wealthier and more intelligent them most residents of RI.
2) I would run RIOC Like a business not a lesbian coffee klatch like it is now.
3) People respect me.
Rick
I think I speek for the entire GLBT Community on Roosevelt Island when I say " go back to whatever sewer hole in the Bronx you crawled out of and stay there"
Online forum rule #1: Never feed the trolls. The more we ignore "Roosevelt Island Rick" the faster he will go back to his sewer hole.
If we start banning words we don't like then we have become Republicans.
And since we want to have free speech and openness on this blog we don't mind Republicans now, do we?
I thought so.
Is it somehow Republican to want to have an environment where someone who spends their personal time to set up a blog (which has become a great news resource for many) can have the expectation that people who go there can and should conduct themselves without profanity, disrespect or otherwise act like idiots? If so, I guess I'll have to sign up as a Republican.
