It's funny RIOC revised the announcement wording because of the incorrect usage of effected/affected. Spell check might not have caught the initial error -- since it was not a spelling error -- but a grammar error.

Rick please let us know what is the technical problem with the tram as soon as you know.

Effected vs affected -- vocabulary does not matter here -- the only thing that matters is passenger and employee SAFETY !!!

North Cabin "difficulties" or technical "difficulties" have been occuring on several levels since the new Tram went into operation.

What kind of non-technical term is "difficulty" ?

Is it electrical ? Is it that little but awful shake at the Manhattan towers that may require work to the cabin and / or to the towers ?

RIOC and POMA must stay on this and be direct and truthful with ridership and with their employees, especially as we need overnight and weekend dependable Tram service when the F train is not running...

I am not sure if you guys have not noticed this but the new tram is a lot more modern and depends on a lot more technology than the old tram. That means a lot more moving parts in a much more complex system. It is a given that in the beginning there will be a lot of outages and adjustments that need to be done. There will also be a lot of outages along the road becauseall the different sensors do fail, for example, and need to be replaced. The software that is being used is most likely heavily customized and still has a lot of bugs that need to be weeded out. Etc. Etc.

Thank you, poster at 9:29 am. You could not be more correct about a new system with more than a few bugs. But we are now 4 1/2 months in and can only hope that POMA and RIOC will stay on top of this to ensure a SAFE Tram ride every time.

RIOC and POMA need to provide more information, and less cryptic information, about tram difficulties. This message is somewhat frightening ... Why should I board the North cabin if it is experiencing problems that keep it from running at standard capacity?

Without knowing any details I could make a guess. Sounds like the weight sensor of that cabin was malfunctioning in some way. I doubt it had anything to do with safety per se.

All this new technology is seriously putting a damper on my intention to ride out the zombie apocalypse here.
