Roosevelt Island Public Safety Department Commendations & Promotions Ceremony
Roosevelt Island Public Safety Director Keith Guerra sends the following message:
On Saturday, May 15, 2010 the Roosevelt Island Public Safety Department honored its members at the 3rd Annual Commendation / Promotion Ceremony. Several Officers were awarded Citations for a job well done. Officer Rivera was promoted to Detective and Mr. Claudio Cornettiwas presented with a Certificate of Appreciation for assisting the Department with the apprehension of four Burglars, who also committed a Robbery & Assault. The 19th and 114th Precincts from the NYPD were represented on the Dais, along with RIOC President/CEO Stephen Shane. Several Roosevelt Island residents were on hand to commend the Officers.
Congratulations to PSD on a fine year where crime had declined on the island by 18%.

It was a nice ceremony. RISA and the PTA were also on hand to show their support.
Roosevelt Island Health & Fitness Day was phenominal this year.
Nice job by all at RIOC who helped make it happen.
If only they would park closer to the curb and stop crossing Main street between the pedestrian crosswalks PSD's employees would set an even better example
Yes it was a nice ceremony. RIOC also gave some other awards out to some island residents as well. The Basketball & Ping Pong Tournaments were buzzing and the food was awesome. Very nice day indeed.

Guy, second from the left is clearly holding his breath and sucking his gut in. I'll bet $50.00 that the woman, cough, cough, on the far right is named Manuela. The guy, second from the right is from Jersey or at least lived there for awhile. Guy dead center, clearly from the burbs and is wearing a suit bought at JcPenny's for around $100 to $170.00, with tax. Worst case scenario he overpaid and shelled out around $300. Guy second from the left is hungry. Guy far left, shit, he's thinking about collecting his pension. He's also wondering if the the photographer even realizes that he had arranged them in a way where every other person was a minority, and vice-versa. Guy second from the right is wondering "WTF...Is Manuela grabbing my ass?" Guy second from the left is wondering if anybody will notice that he doesn't have a neck.

If somebody like Stephen Colbert or Jon Stewart makes a comment like the one above (and they are well known to do that) we all would laugh. If it was somebody anonymous on a blog we get angry.
