Reported last January on two Roosevelt Island dogs being poisoned, one killed and other badly injured, by rat bait traps.
The Roosevelt Island Public Safety Monthly Blotter for March 2012 noted:
3/22/2012 - S/O 200 Main St - Rat poison found by cat shelter at location. Substance was removed. Search of area yielded negative results for subject who placed it there.The Roosevelt Island Public Safety Report for March 22 - 23 reported the incident as follows:

What a shame that there are people who are so cruel and disturbed that they would go down to the end of the island and try to poison some cats. I am assuming that this was not "legitimate" rodent control poison.
