The Roosevelt Island FDR Four Freedoms Park (FDR Park) invites you to Design and Fly A Kite to honor International Peace Day

Kite Flight for Peace & Human Rights

Saturday, September 28, 2019

11:00 AM 4:00 PM

In recognition of the United Nations General Assembly and International Peace Day, visitors are invited to design and fly kites selecting stripes, colors, and symbols that represent personal ideas about peace and freedom. Visitors of all ages will discover the fun of constructing and flying their very own kite, guaranteed to soar in the lightest of winds. Kite-making workshops are free and suitable for all ages.

Food will be available for purchase from Jamrock Jerk!

This event coincides with Roosevelt Island’s Fall for Arts Festival, an annual celebration of art and autumn, featuring live mural painting and other fun, family-friendly activities throughout the island.
