Although you would not know it by the warm and rainy weather today, it is soon coming on Christmas and cold winter days which reminds me of this great song.

You Tube Video of Sarah McClachlan's River

This is a wonderful version of Joni Mitchell's song River, sung by Sarah McLachlan.
It's coming on Christmas
They're cutting down trees
They're putting up reindeer
And singing songs of joy and peace
Oh I wish I had a river I could skate away on

But it don't snow here
It stays pretty green
I'm going to make a lot of money
Then I'm going to quit this crazy scene
Oh I wish I had a river I could skate away on

I wish I had a river so long
I would teach my feet to fly
I wish I had a river I could skate away on
I made my baby cry
Lyrics to River are here.

UPDATE - 12/11 - RIOC has announced that the Roosevelt Island Tree Lighting Ceremony scheduled for later today has been postponed. According to RIOC:
