0700hrs 01/15/10 - 0700hrs 01/16/10Robbery- Three male subjects robbed victim in the motorgate, motorgate attendee reported robbery to PSD and NYPD. Assault- 2 subjects punched an adult male while he was talking on a cell phone. They fled. PSD, NYPD responded and conducted a search with negative results. EMS transported the male to the hospital.

I heard the Public Safety Chief say Crime was down approximately 18% in 2009, as compared to 2008. That's pretty good. I asked him if he had increased his force and his reply was, "No, we are just policing differently."
While not perfect, the Community Policing Strategy he has brought here has increased the department's level of professionalism and reduced Crime on Roosevelt Island & we are grateful for that.

RIOC can make add'l street parking available by ordering PSD to strictly enforce the existing parking regulations AND remove cars with irregular "permits" which appear to get a blind eye.
