Operation Patriot held its first New York City Trot With Troops on a beautiful Sunday morning at Roosevelt Island yesterday. As reported in previous post:

... The mission of Operation Patriot Foundation, Inc., is to pay tribute to those who protect us daily - fire fighters, law enforcement, emergency responders and our active and veteran military forces, and to raise money for organizations representing these men and women who protect us....

Prior to the start of the 5K Trot With Troops, opening ceremonies were conducted that included the recitation of the Pledge Of Allegiance, the singing of the National Anthem performed very well by Amy Rivard and the induction of several young men and women into the United States Army.



Then came the start of the 5K Trot With Troops at Firefighters Field



continuing on the West Promenade with a view of the East River and Upper East Side of Manhattan Skyline



and finally finishing back at Firefighters Field.
