One day in July, 1969, I sat in the den of my old house on Long Island with a 6 month old baby in my lap, watching the landing on a small screen, black-and-white TV. I cried like my baby as they landed and cried some more as Neil Armstrong said those famous words "one giant step for mankind"! Indeed it was, even as naysayers lament that we should be spending our money here on earth. I always wondered if that's what they said when early explorers helped mankind determine that our earth was not flat. R.I.P. Neil Armstrong, and we'll continue to celebrate your giant step for mankind.
