Armed Robbery At Roosevelt Island's Roosevelt Landings Building Early This Morning - No Arrests Made Yet, Incident Currently Under Investigation By NYPD 114 Precinct Detectives

Received a tip today about an armed robbery earlier this morning at Roosevelt Landings.

I asked Roosevelt Island Operating Corp (RIOC) Public Safety Department Chief Jack McManus and Public Information Officer Alonza Robertson:
I understand there was an armed robbery at Roosevelt Landings early this morning.

Is that true?

What type of weapon used? Gun, knife?

Was anybody injured.

Which Roosevelt Landing building. In an apartment or corridor?

Any more details?
Mr. Robertson replied:
Detectives from the NYPD 114th Precinct and officers from the Roosevelt Island Public Safety Department are investigating an armed robbery that happened early Wednesday morning at the Urban America residential building at 540 Main Street.

Four unidentified males used a gun to rob a 32-year-old man of his wallet and money in the 4th floor hallway of the building at approximately 2 a.m. Wednesday. The victim was not injured, PSD officials said.

Detectives are working with PSD to investigate this incident and are seeking surveillance video that may have captured the incident or of the suspects fleeing the scene.

If you have any information about this incident, you are urged to call PSD at 212.832.4545.
A NYPD spokesperson added:
At approximately 12:10 AM this morning, 4 individuals approached the victim inside 540 Main Street asking for a cigarette, assaulted the victim and chased him. One individual displayed a firearm.

The victim was not hospitalized.
No arrests have been made yet. The NYPD 114 precinct is currently investigating the incident.
