Roosevelt Island Graffitti Now On Trees

Someone marked up two trees on the Riverwalk lawn with grafitti. Why would anyone do this? It's disgusting. Let's see how quickly this gets cleaned up.

Still waiting for the boat dock prow to be cleaned up.

There was actually a third tree hit as well just North of the two pictured. On Sunday morning we saw a man scraping the bark lightly cleaning the bulk of the bulk of it off. Some residue remains. I assumed this man was either RIOC or Riverwalk staff. Why he stopped at one tree is unclear to me.

Managers from Southtown buildings #1, 2 and 3 were notified and will look to see if it's RIOC or them who has to clean it and keep it cleaned.

I also saw similar graffiti in the subway station in two locations: halfway down the escalators on the blue construction wall and on the side of the mezzanine near the stairs down to the Manhattan bound platform. Perhaps authorities can work with the MTA to see if the station cameras picked anyone up.
This is a shame.

If I knew how to remove it safely without damaging the tree i would have, however, since my taxes pay for the RIOC I also hope they wouldn't let symantics stop them from cleaning it as they should be.
