Fire In Eastwood (Roosevelt Landings)Trash Room Leaves 4 Foot Burn Mark On Wall

Image of 4 Foot Burn Mark on Wall in Eastwood (Roosevelt Landings) Trash Room

An Eastwood (Roosevelt Landings) resident sent in the above photo and asks:
Did anyone tell you what happened? I don't know all the details, but when I arrived home yesterday, PS was helping with the flooded hallway after a fire broke out in the trash room.
I am not sure if this is the same incident but the 1/25 -26 Roosevelt Island Daily Public Safety Report advises:
Fire Alarm- Garbage bag in the Avac caught on fire. FDNY responded and extinguished it and determined that it was accidental. UA also responded.
The reader responds:
... that must be what happened. I am not sure how a bag in the AVAC chute caused a 4-foot burn on the wall of the trash room (pic), and caused a 20-foot flood in the hallway. Yes, this was Sunday evening.
Anybody know for sure what happened?
